The preparation for death is often sacred and mysterious.

While this course is designed for those approaching the end of life, the truth is that we are all going to die.

We live much of life on autopilot, half-asleep. A near-death experience, a terminal diagnosis, or the loss of someone we love can rouse us, reminding us to live deliberately and with purpose.

Living with the awareness of our mortality can help us see life more clearly, appreciate it more deeply, and live with greater intention. It is also valuable to explore these reflections and practices now- before the end, when energy may be limited - so they can support you fully, whenever that time comes.

Some ideas presented here may differ from your worldview, you are welcome to engage with what resonates with you and put aside that which feels unhelpful.

This course offers gentle practices which you may choose to work through alone or together with your caregivers or loved ones

It is comprised of 5 modules, which you can go though at your own pace.

1. Arriving in the present

2. Meeting difficulty with kindness

3. Finding stillness in the midst of difficulty

4. Letting go and opening

5. Resting in being

The intention of each module is to gently guide you back to the present moment with compassion, allowing space for all that you are experiencing.

Each week will consist of

  • A short introduction/ discussion of the theme, available in an easy-to-read written format.  If your energy is limited, you may want to ask a friend to read this to you.
  • Daily short audio practices (5-10 minutes).  Many options are given so that you can choose what suits you.
  • Questions to reflect on
  • A suggestion of an optional legacy project (journal reflections, art or voice recording)
  • Music
  • Poetry
